200hr Yoga Teacher Training

Join our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Breathe, recognized as a top-ten yoga teacher training in Canada on various respected platforms! 

  

At Breathe, we value the power of community. Our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training aims to cultivate a community of skilled teachers to guide you on the transformative journey to your authentic self. Whether you aspire to become a yoga teacher or delve deeper into your practice for personal growth, our program is designed to support you. 


This program is designed to make the deeper aspects of yoga accessible to people of all ages and physical abilities. This training is for you if:

 

  • You seek a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training that equips you with the knowledge, tools, and support to confidently teach yoga.


  • You're uncertain about teaching but have a passion for yoga and a desire for a deeper self-understanding.


  • You want to master the technical and subtle aspects of asanas, creative sequencing structures, and the latest safe teaching methods.


  • You desire a high-quality educational experience with a consistent approach to teaching and practicing yoga.


We exceed the basic requirements of the American Yoga Alliance, staying current with new regulations and alliances to ensure you graduate with the best credentials.

 

The training will be held at our McKenzie Towne location:


Fridays 4:00pm-9:00pm
Saturdays 8:00am-6:00pm
Sundays 8:00am-6:00pm

Early Bird Pricing: $3,250+GST. Full payment is due prior to June 30, 2025.

Regular Price $3,550+GST after June 30, 2025


Includes 20 class pass (valued $340) plus 5 workshops (valued approx $200) and Breathe Method manuals. Does not include any additional text books.


A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold spot. Full payment is due prior to start date and is non-refundable. Partial payments will not be accepted.


** Payment Plan Contract available for $3,250+GST (in addition to $500 deposit). Payments will automatically come off credit card in 3 instalments of $1,083.33+GST. NOTE: We do not accept Visa Debit or prepaid credit cards. Discounts not available on payment plan.

Known for her fun and lighthearted energy, Amanda helps future teachers build confidence, clarity, and connection in their practice and teaching.

 Kenny brings play, power, and precision to the mat. In the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, he teaches the “fun stuff” — including acro yoga, inversions, arm balances, and handstands. His approach is energetic and encouraging, helping trainees explore their edge while staying safe and grounded. With Kenny, expect to flip your perspective and find strength in unexpected places.

In the training, she guides trainees through the art of sequencing, creating meaningful playlists, and emotional themes to craft impactful classes. Paige offe

A graduate of a 500hr training in Thailand and additional certifications in Vimana Vinyasa, Partner Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Katonah Yoga, she blends tradition with modern insight. As a Registered Massage The

Sara, E-RYT500, has been teaching yoga since 2014 and brings a rich blend of movement, mindfulness, and anatomical expertise to the mat. A graduate of a 500hr training in Thailand and additional certifications in Vimana Vinyasa, Partner Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Katonah Yoga, she blends tradition with modern insight. As a Registered Massage Therapist, Sara brings a deep understanding of the body to her anatomy teachings in the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training. In the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, she guides trainees through the more restorative side of yoga, including Yin, Restorative, and the foundations of yoga philosophy. With a calm, grounded approach, Sara helps students slow down

In the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training, she guides trainees through the more restorative side of yoga, including Yin, Restorative, and the foundations of yoga philosophy. With a calm, grounded approach, Sara helps students slow down, tune in, and explore the deeper layers of the practice—both physically and philosophically. 

What's Included

In-Person Lectures, Discussion, and Practices

  • Approximately 180 hours of the training will be delivered through lectures, Q&A, group discussions, and practices, during the training hours listed.
  • Attendance of 20 one-hour classes at Breathe with selected lead YTT teacher is also required; Please note that these classes are not included in the listed training dates and must be fulfilled independently between the program's start and end dates. 
  • Expect a moderate level of homework, recognizing that consistent practice is crucial for advancement. Completing assignments will reinforce comprehension and retention of the concepts discussed in lectures and group discussions.


Curriculum

Our 200hrs Teacher Training will take you through the following curriculum:

 

  • Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding the human body in motion and stillness.
  • Asana Practice: Exploring postures and alignment in depth.
  • Yoga Philosophy & History: Connecting with yoga’s rich traditions.
  • Chakras: Delving into the body's energetic centers.
  • Critical Alignment: Cultivating stability and ease in practice.
  • Teaching Methodology: Building skills in sequencing, cueing, adjustments, and modifications.
  • Chanting & Breath Work: Finding rhythm, resonance, and grounding.
  • The Power of Words: Learning to communicate with clarity and intention.
  • Business & Ethics of Yoga: Equipping you with essential insights for a career in teaching.

Specialty Yoga Styles

 

Our program includes special sessions led by guest teachers who introduce unique fusion styles of yoga and movement. While offerings vary each session, past and potential experiences include:


  • Yoga fused with dance or martial arts (such as tai chi-inspired flow, buti yoga or inside flow)
  • Mobility and strength-based movement (e.g., Animal Flow, calisthenics)
  • Kundalini Yoga, Katonah Yoga, Forest Yoga
  • Acro Yoga
  • Sound healing and mantra
  • Breathwork and meditative practices
  • Yoga and massage integration
     

These guest sessions offer a chance to move beyond traditional formats, ignite creativity, and expand your understanding of what yoga can be. Each one supports the development of your authentic voice as a teacher and deepens your personal practice.

Continuing Education

 

  • Throughout the program, you will have the opportunity to practice teaching and receive feedback from both our lead teachers and guest teachers. This will help you to gain confidence in your teaching abilities and develop your own unique teaching style.
  • After completing the training, you'll be able to utilize the skills acquired in the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and lead a class at our Breathe McKenzie Towne location. Your teaching opportunity will be on Fridays at 5:00 pm in the "The Practice - Empowering New Teachers" session, welcoming Breathe clients, friends, and family to join and support your teaching journey.

Group Interaction

  • At Breathe, we prioritize the significance of group interaction as a vital component of your learning experience. Our program encourages participants to cultivate supportive relationships, fostering an environment where individuals can learn collaborative skills and engage in group exercises and projects. By actively participating in these collective endeavors, you not only deepen your understanding of yoga but also develop valuable teamwork and communication skills.


  • Throughout the training, we emphasize the importance of keeping in touch and staying connected beyond the classroom. Building a network within the yoga community is integral, and our program provides ample opportunities for you to connect with your peers, mentors, and fellow trainees. This network extends beyond the duration of the YTT, offering ongoing support and a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences. At Breathe, we believe that the bonds formed during the training contribute significantly to your personal and professional growth, creating a community that extends well beyond the mat.

 

We’ve designed this program to support every student’s success, regardless of age, ability level, or where you live. Whether your goal is to become a certified teacher or simply deepen your personal practice, this training is open to anyone with a consistent interest in yoga and a desire to grow.


Upon completion of the program, you’ll be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), giving you the opportunity to teach yoga anywhere in the world.
